Problem with Aspire 3000 using Windows XP before and after recovery from
previously valid Ghost image AND also after use of recovery disks originally
supplied by Acer:

At welcome screen and thereafter, keystrokes processed very slowly (<1 per
second) only if staying on key until recognition (leaning on key does not
eventually produce multis), touchpad motion is reflected well behind actual
motion, BUT USB mouse behaves just fine, including clicks.

All of the above does NOT occur in safe mode.

Any suggestions or solutions or additional information needed?

Try removing the battery. If the battery is bad, Windows will respond
veerrryyy slowly. I've seen this on three different Aspire 3000/5000's.

That solution, also suggested by Acer, worked. Sometimes there is no
connection between cause and effect, apparently.

Thanks.
